This tutorial was created to get you connected to your desktop remotely using Microsoft's Remote Web Workplace feature.

Follow These Steps:

1) Open a web browser

It is recommended that you use Internet Explorer as your web browser when connecting remotely.  Some other browsers may function, but Internet Explorer is the best choice and the instructions that follow will assume you are using Internet Explorer.

2) Connect to the Remote Web Workplace

You will need to know the domain name in order to know the web address for the company server that will allow you to access the remote web workplace.  Example: if the domain name is MYCOMPANY then the address will be mail.mycompany.com/remote.  Type this into the address bar of the open internet browser window.

3) Security Warning

If you receive a security warning about the website's security certificate click the link that says "Continue to this website"

4) First Login

You will then be taken to a login screen where you will need to put in your user name and password.  This is the same login that you use when sitting at your work computer.

5) Connect to your desktop

You will then need to click the link that says "Connect to Client Desktops"

This will take you to a list off all the computers that are located on the company network.  You will need to know the name of your computer at work in order to choose it from the list.  If it is a bitMASTERS built computer the name will be the same as the serial number and will begin with BMxxxxxxxxx.  Highlight your computer name and click "Connect".

If this is the first time connecting you may receive an ActiveX warning.  You will need to click on the warning bar located at the top of your browser window and allow the ActiveX to install.  After it has completed installing it will take you back to the beginning of step 5.  Click the link again, highlight your computer name and choose "Connect".

6) Last Login

If a window pops up and asks if you trust this computer click "Yes" and continue connecting to the desktop.  This will open a new window where you will again see a login screen.  Put your username and password in one more time and you will then be connected to your remote desktop.

To disconnect log off your machine and the window will close automatically.
